Drive On Diesel will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Drive On Diesel, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve is a key component in reducing harmful emissions in diesel engines. The International Navistar MaxxForce 5, VT365, VT275 EGR Valve (OEM 1875590C91) ensures that your engine meets environmental standards while maintaining efficiency. Regular maintenance of this part can improve engine performance and prevent costly repairs.

Maintenance Tips for Your EGR Valve

  • Regular Cleaning
    •  Over time, carbon deposits can build up inside the EGR valve, reducing its efficiency. Regular cleaning prevents clogs and ensures smooth operation.
  • Check for Warning Signs
    •  If your vehicle is experiencing rough idling, poor fuel efficiency, or an illuminated check engine light, the EGR valve may need inspection or replacement.
  • Replace When Necessary
    •  EGR valves can wear out over time. Replacing it with the OEM 1875590C91 ensures your engine continues to meet emissions standards and runs efficiently.
  • Monitor Exhaust Smoke
    • Excessive black smoke from the exhaust could indicate a problem with the EGR valve, signaling that it’s time for maintenance or replacement.

The International Navistar MaxxForce 5, VT365, VT275 EGR Valve (OEM 1875590C91) plays a crucial role in controlling emissions and maintaining your engine’s efficiency. The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve plays an important role in reducing vehicle emissions by recirculating a portion of the exhaust gases back into the engine. When the EGR valve malfunctions, it can cause a variety of engine performance issues. Recognizing the symptoms of a bad EGR valve early can help prevent more severe damage and maintain optimal engine function.

Common Symptoms of a Bad EGR Valve

If your EGR valve is failing, you may experience several noticeable symptoms. Here are the most common signs to watch for:

  • Poor Engine Performance
    • A bad EGR valve can lead to rough idling, poor acceleration, and reduced engine power, especially when driving at low speeds.
  • Check Engine Light
    • One of the clearest signs of a faulty EGR valve is the illumination of the check engine light on your dashboard. This is triggered by the engine control unit detecting improper EGR function.
  • Increased Emissions
    • A malfunctioning EGR valve can cause higher levels of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, which may lead to a failed emissions test.
  • Engine Stalling or Hesitation
    • When the EGR valve is stuck open or closed, it can disrupt the air-fuel mixture, causing the engine to stall or hesitate when accelerating.
  • Fuel Efficiency Drop
    • A faulty EGR valve can lead to inefficient fuel combustion, resulting in a noticeable decrease in fuel economy.
  • Excessive Exhaust Smoke
    • A bad EGR valve may cause excessive exhaust smoke, often dark or black in color, due to improper combustion.

A bad EGR valve can lead to various engine performance issues, including poor fuel efficiency, stalling, and increased emissions. By understanding the common symptoms of a failing EGR valve, you can take early action and prevent further damage to your vehicle. Regular maintenance and prompt repairs will ensure that your EGR system continues to function efficiently, improving both engine performance and reducing harmful emissions.

Carbon deposits can clog or restrict valve movement, preventing proper operation and triggering drivability issues.
