In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Drive On Diesel will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Drive On Diesel, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

Fuel injectors are vital components of your vehicle’s engine, responsible for delivering the precise amount of fuel needed for combustion. When these injectors start to fail, it can lead to a range of performance issues that can affect the efficiency and reliability of your vehicle. Recognizing the signs of a failing fuel injector early can help you address problems before they lead to more serious engine damage. In this blog, we'll discuss the key symptoms to watch for and what they mean for your vehicle's health.

  • Engine Misfires

    • If you experience engine misfires or a rough idle, it could be a sign that one or more fuel injectors are not delivering fuel properly. Misfires occur when the engine struggles to ignite the air-fuel mixture in the cylinders.

  • Poor Acceleration

    • A failing fuel injector can lead to sluggish acceleration. If your vehicle hesitates or lacks power when you press the gas pedal, it may be due to inconsistent fuel delivery.

  • Decreased Fuel Efficiency

    • Reduced fuel economy is a common symptom of a bad fuel injector. If you notice that you're refueling more often than usual, a faulty injector could be to blame.

  • Engine Stalling

    • Frequent stalling or difficulty starting the engine can indicate a problem with the fuel injectors. Stalling occurs when the engine isn't receiving the right amount of fuel to maintain proper operation.

  • Increased Exhaust Emissions

    •  A malfunctioning fuel injector can cause your engine to burn fuel inefficiently, resulting in increased exhaust emissions. If your vehicle’s exhaust appears darker than usual or you notice an increase in harmful emissions, it may be related to the injectors.

  • Fuel Odor

    • A strong smell of gasoline around your vehicle could indicate a leaking or malfunctioning fuel injector. Fuel leaks not only affect performance but also pose a safety risk.

Identifying and addressing the signs of a failing fuel injector early can help you avoid more serious engine issues and maintain your vehicle’s performance. If you experience engine misfires, poor acceleration, decreased fuel efficiency, or any of the other symptoms mentioned, it's important to have your fuel injectors inspected by a professional. Regular maintenance and timely repairs will ensure your fuel system operates effectively, keeping your vehicle running smoothly and efficiently.

Common causes include contaminated fuel, debris, or excessive engine heat.
