SHIPPING POLICY

Drive On Diesel ships via UPS Ground. Next day air shipping can be arranged for a reasonable price of anywhere from $50.00 - $100.00 depending on the weight of the product and your location. We will do everything we can to make sure that you get the service you need. We understand how important it is to receive your order as quickly as possible.
In most cases Drive On Diesel only needs one address, as long as your product is shipping to the same location as your billing information. In order to eliminate credit card fraud, your billing information must match the credit card you provide.

The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Drive On Diesel provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. From that point, we will review with you any troubleshooting steps that may need to be taken and other areas or systems that can be checked to rule out external problems contributing to your part's issue. If a replacement is determined to be necessary, we will then arrange for your replacement part to ship out ASAP and issue any necessary return shipping labels and/or documents.

As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Drive On Diesel, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Drive On Diesel will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Drive On Diesel, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The OEM ASP‑908‑3114‑12‑08 valve is a 12V inline coolant control valve designed for use in emissions systems and coolant routing in heavy-duty diesel engines. This valve is typically used in Paccar and Cummins platforms where precise control of coolant or DEF system flow is required. Its construction and electrical compatibility make it ideal for harsh environments and frequent duty cycles.

Functional Highlights

This valve operates using 12V DC power and is designed to regulate flow through an inline, ½-inch hose bead connection. It provides on-demand fluid control in emissions or cooling systems, often triggered by the ECU based on system temperature or operating conditions.

Key Features

  • 12V Electrical Operation
    • Standard for heavy-duty vehicle systems
  • ½-Inch Hose Bead Fitment
    • Ensures tight connection with coolant or DEF lines
  • Inline Configuration
    • Simplifies installation without requiring rerouting
  • OEM-Grade Durability
    • Built for consistent operation and long service life
  • Common Use Cases
    • DEF bypass lines, coolant routing valves, emissions system control

Applications

This valve is frequently found in on-highway trucks, off-road equipment, and industrial power units where emissions control or engine cooling flow must be actively managed. It supports accurate fluid control without mechanical cable or manual input, making it ideal for modern digital system architectures.

If you need help identifying compatible components or sourcing installation torque specs, feel free to ask.

Driving with a bad valve—whether it’s an engine valve, EGR valve, or a valve related to the emissions system—depends on the type of valve and the severity of the failure. Here's a breakdown of the risks and considerations:

1. Engine Valves (Intake or Exhaust)

Symptoms of a bad engine valve:

  • Rough idling
  • Misfiring
  • Loss of compression
  • Decreased fuel economy
  • Ticking or tapping noises

Risks of driving:

  • Driving with a damaged intake or exhaust valve can cause engine misfires, reduce combustion efficiency, and increase heat buildup.
  • Prolonged driving can lead to burnt valves, piston damage, or total engine failure, especially if the valve is stuck open or broken.
  • Bottom line: It is not safe to drive for long with a bad engine valve. Immediate inspection and repair are strongly advised.

2. EGR Valve (Exhaust Gas Recirculation)

Symptoms of failure:

  • Increased emissions
  • Check engine light
  • Engine knocking
  • Reduced throttle response

Risks of driving:

  • A faulty EGR valve can clog the intake system, cause the engine to run hotter, and degrade long-term engine health.
  • However, it may not immediately strand the vehicle.
  • Bottom line: It’s generally safe to drive short-term, but emissions compliance and fuel efficiency will suffer. Repair should not be delayed.

3. DEF Dosing or SCR System Valves

Symptoms of DEF-related valve issues:

  • Emissions warnings
  • Fault codes related to DEF injection
  • Derate or limp mode

Risks of driving:

  • Driving with a faulty DEF valve (e.g., dosing valve) may lead to engine derates, speed restrictions, or a non-restart condition once the system registers repeated failures.
  • Bottom line: You can drive temporarily, but emissions restrictions will kick in—especially in commercial applications.

Final Recommendations

  • Identify the type of valve causing issues.
  • Read diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) to confirm the root cause.
  • Avoid extended driving if related to core engine functions.
  • Schedule service promptly to prevent escalation of damage or legal risks.
